Wool: The New Spray Paint

Are the days of “tagging” done?  The newest craze in street art is “Knitta”, adding some colour and flare to the world with needles and thread. Moral of the story: My grandmother would make a pretty good street artist.

Best 25 Cents Ever Spent

You can’t get much for a quarter these days…unless you’re walking along Queen St to the new Pinball Cafe which houses retro pinball games (I’m pretty sure I held a high-score at the old Video Invasion). Pretty cool idea to bring back the kid in anyone that played these games religiously or for kids now that want to try something a little harder than Nintendo DS.

Scary Or Awesome?

One of the latest “fashion statements” ( I really should be using that term extremely loosely), is spandex. No not bicycle shorts of the 80s but full-out stretchy body suits. We love having our staff wear them at events to either entertain guests (or scare young children).  Plus you can’t tell who it is so getting embarrassed is a non-factor. Hilarious.

Raptor’s Fans Have Sole

Sports are great to watch. Some of the world’s best athletes competing against each other. The other great thing is when someone in the crowd catches your eye. Whether a crazy sign, a costume or a guy with amazing seats wearing your company t-shirt. We like it all.

Wanna Win A Grammy? Head To Scratch Lab

If you’re Canadian and want to bring home the hardware, seems like Scratch Lab DJ Institute might be a great place to start…at least that’s what this CBC News Story seems to think. We couldn’t agree more.

Almost As Good As “I GOT SOLE”

We love getting compliments on any new SP T-Shirt. Since we know how good it feels, we figured we’d pay it forward to Deadmau% who definitely deserves a kudos for his shirt last night at the Grammys. Somewhere Skrillex is pissed.

We Woulda Made Him Top 1 Under 40

Who doesn’t love a good Top 20 list… especially one that includes someone you know. We’ll if you’re on this blog chances are you’ve at least heard of Abby Tobias (and more than likely seen him in action several times). Adding to the list of accolades on our leader’s resume is being named one of Shalom Life’s Top 20 Under 40 (Note: Abby did request that the list be renamed the top 20 under 34). We’re proud to share the news about one of Sole Power’s own. Check out the article here. Congrats Abby, well deserved.

Sole Power-Oompadee Doo

We love reminiscing about great events, and the other day this beauty of a picture was brought back to our attention. Reminded us of a time in early October 2011 when Sole Power helped bring the Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory to life at the Warehouse Event Venue. It was definitely a rockin’ event and we all left feeling really tall.

We Built This City On Rock N Sole

In it’s history there aren’t many places in Toronto Sole Power hasn’t been. Event venues, Parks, Stores we’ve done it all and seen it all. Truth is, we love this city and are proud to add some life to it every time we produce an event. Want a great look at the T.O. check this out to see an amazing Toronto time lapse. Might even give you a few ideas of where to have your next event.

Sure The Giants Won…But Who Had The Best Commercial?

It’s easy to decipher a winner in sports. One team has more points than another. Pretty cut and dry…but what about the best ad? Well for those of you reading that watched on CTV from Canada, you have to decide between the “Arctic Air” preview, a “Republic of Doyle” preview and some recycled commercials from last year. If this you, I definitely recommend watching The Top 10 Superbowl Ads of 2012. That’s one bloggers opinion, for us it’s simple, a lot of energy and a good laugh makes this Chevy ad tops in our books.
